Points of dispute are a written statement made by the paying party identifying the areas of disagreement as to the costs to be assessed. In respect of each item of costs which is disputed the statement should outline the reason for disputing it and, where a reduction is sought, should suggest the reduced figure. 

CPR 47.9 deals with points of dispute and the consequence of not serving them.  CPR PD 47 sets out the requirements about the form of points of dispute.  Section IV of Part 47 sets out the procedure to be followed after points of dispute have been served.

This course will guide you through the rules governing points of dispute, suggest an approach to drafting points and provide you with ideas as to how to draft points of dispute on the new bill of costs.
